The Obama Administration will find or create a way to kill jobs, especially in California.  Here is the newest.

“On Thursday afternoon, the Valley experienced a “perfect storm” of pollution build-up and meteorological conditions that led to a violation of the federal 1-hour ozone standard, despite the cleanest summer on record, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District says.

“Compounding the effects of high-pressure over the Valley, an upper level low-pressure system off southern California shut down the normal northwesterly wind flow over eastern Fresno County, resulting in unusually high ozone spikes,” it says.

In order to reach attainment and remove a $29 million federal penalty, each of the air basin’s monitoring stations must not exceed the ozone threshold of 125 ppb more than three times in three years. This year was the longest the Valley had gone without exceeding the standard, yet with Clovis exceeding the limts at the very end of the 2011 ozone season, the Valley cannot show attainment until 2013, the district says.”

Now the Valley has to either pay a fine–where does the money come from?  Or, it can close enough businesses, kill jobs, so that we don’t go over an arbitrary standard created by those who believe working is killing the planet.

When you hear of businesses closing in the San Joaquin Valley remember this story.  When you hear about California being the number one State in unemployment, remember this story.  Why is California in a Depression?  You can thank the Federal government as part of the reason.

San Joaquin Valley fails to meet air pollution standards

Central Valley Business Times, 9/22/11

•  Another clean air year – but not clean enough

•  ‘Perfect storm’ is blamed

On Thursday afternoon, the Valley experienced a “perfect storm” of pollution build-up and meteorological conditions that led to a violation of the federal 1-hour ozone standard, despite the cleanest summer on record, the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District says.

This year was the longest the Valley had gone without exceeding the standard, yet with Clovis exceeding the limts at the very end of the 2011 ozone season, the Valley cannot show attainment until 2013, the district says.

This year, no monitor has recorded more than two exceedances.

“We are still in a position to see the $29 million federal penalty removed by 2013, one year sooner than initially anticipated,” says Seyed Sadredin, executive director of the district.

Preliminary indications are that the inaugural Air Alert program helped lower ozone concentrations. In 2010, the 1-hour standard was exceeded 17 hours throughout the Valley. This year, with the end of the ozone season in sight, the Valley has seen just five hours of exceedances in the entire eight counties.

This 1-hour standard was revoked by the federal government in 2005, and replaced with the more health-protective 8-hour ozone standard. District officials believe the federal penalty is unfair to Valley businesses and residents that have made great investments and sacrifices to improve air quality.

So instead of turning them Green and organic they shut them down. So this isn’t justice it is the government using the EPA to their benefit, imho. Why not shut down Golf courses? There are 17,000 or more golf courses in the USA taking up 5 million acres of land. The government shuts down farms and commandeers land for development but allows these elitists game proliferate and take our precious resources…reserved only for the rich while the rest of us just get less and less. Sick of USA Bullshit!

It’s obvious to many that the huge government you pay for and have for representation is now the one who is going to swindle people out of their property and wealth….term limits, flat tax and part time legislatures will begin to give We the people the ability to regain decent government.
