Los Angeles is the home of a criminal police force. The Chief of Police allowed vandals to cause millions of dollars of damage to public an private property and watched for two months. The cops allowed gangs to roam the streets of downtown and close streets to traffic whenever they wanted.
The LA cops allowed drug sales and the public urination and defecation in the streets–and just watched.
For years the LAPD have allowed foreign criminals to roam the streets, commit crimes and then refuse to turn them in to the Feds for deportation–some would call that a criminal conspiracy.

In a move that’s sure to disturb Americans seeking a solution to the illegal alien problem, California’s ”City of Angeles” is taking its sanctuary title more seriously than most by ordering police officers to stop enforcing a state public safety law because it creates an “unfair burden” for illegal immigrants, according to a report by a top Washington, DC-based public interest group.
A few weeks ago, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa ordered the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to stop impounding the vehicles of unlicensed drivers for 30 days as per California state law, according to Judicial Watch, a non-profit organization that investigates and exposes government corruption and abuse.
The state law is intended to keep potentially reckless drivers off the road and therefore protect the public. It applies to unlicensed drivers as well as those who have had their license revoked or suspended.
In other words, under the LAPD guidelines, citizens will have their vehicles impounded at their own expense, but illegal aliens will retain their illegally driven cars.
Under the law illegal immigrants make up the majority of the drivers who have their cars impounded because they can’t get licenses in California or most states. LAPD Chief Charlie Beck told the local newspaper that this presents an “unfair burden” and “disproportionate blow” for illegal aliens, who he refers to as a “valuable asset to our community.”
So the chief has ordered his officers to give unlicensed drivers a chance to avoid having their vehicles impounded by calling someone with a license who would then be allowed to drive the car. The chief says it’s a “fairness issue” because there is a “vast difference between someone driving without a license because they cannot legally be issued one and someone driving after having their license revoked.”
The Los Angeles police union is outraged and is charging the mayor with putting politics above public safety. “This new policy will result in innocent people being injured and killed,” the union said in a statement posted on its web site. “It is a sad day for Los Angeles residents because the Mayor is directing the LAPD to purposely not enforce a state law designed to protect public safety.”
The union further points out that the new policy exposes officers and the city to potential legal liabilities stemming from any damage or injury caused by an unlicensed driver’s continued operation of a vehicle that should have been impounded under state law. It also “substantially reduces the disincentives against the unlicensed and unlawful operation of a vehicle.”
According to the JW blog, the LAPD has a decades-old policy (Special Order No. 40) that prohibits officers from initiating police action with the objective of discovering the alien status of a person. This prevents officers from inquiring about the immigration status of an individual and from contacting federal officials about an individual’s immigration status.
In 2006 Judicial Watch filed a taxpayer lawsuit in the Superior Court of the State of California asking the court to prohibit the LAPD from expending taxpayer funds to enforce and maintain Special Order No. 40, which violates both federal immigration laws and California law while placing American citizens at risk.
Not true, cops can only report an illegal to ICE if and only if they are committing a misdemeanor or a felony. Traffic violations are infractions.

I was under the assumption that cops would report illegal immigrants to ICE if they pulled someone over who didn’t have their papers with them, hence the not asking for insurance papers.

I would agree that a willful act of discriminatory enforcement of the law would invalidate the ability to enforce the same law against others. I would most assuredly protest the seizure of my vehicle on these grounds and plead not guilty in court.

It is illegal to discriminate against anyone because of their national origin. This law clearly discriminates against Americans! I have to pay for a license, have point removed if I violate traffic laws and I must pay for insurance to include uninsured drivers. Non citizens DON’T have to pay for insurance, nor do they worry about traffic points taken off their license. Americans driving without a license must pay for impound but Non-Americans DON’T have this responsibility! Clearly, this is a lawsuit against Los Angeles waiting to happen! It is discrimination based on National Origin!!! Where are the lawsuits? Where is the outrage?

The best and easiest solution to the problem is to hold Viaragosa and his Police Chief PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for any American citizen or anyone killed or injured because he chooses to play favorites with Mexican illegals (CRIMINALS) and prosecute him for 1st degree manslaughter!! (This crap would never fly in the OC!!) The Demorons have turned L.A. into a TOTAL ILLEGAL GANG INFESTED LAWLESS CESSPOOL!!

I believe that cops are unconstitutional as per the Roger Roots treatise. NOBODY ought to be impounding ANYBODIES private property especially because busybodies are all about preventing harm that has not occurred. Busybodies should get a life of their own to run. “He can’t even run his own life, I’ll be damned if he’ll run mine” applies. NOBODY is “illegal” because of those busybodies say so, either. Freedom is more than a word (for idiots to banter about). It is a way of life that entails free markets and maximum happiness AND wealth. Anyone claiming to follow Christ should understand. The anti-Christ is bureaucracy in all of its forms.
