“Catholic” Hospitals Go Non Catholic–ObamaCare Kills Them and will Abort Babies

Get real.  This is what the Catholic hospitals say, “Officials indicated that the move was not directly tied to the onset and national health reform, and its restrictions on the the ability of religious organizations to avoid providing abortions or other services and procedures because of their theology.

Dignity Health’s “Catholic hospitals will continue to be Catholic, directly sponsored by their founding congregations (religious orders), and adhering to” the Church’s guidelines.”

The moment they are independent, ObamaCare folks will tell them abortions are good for business and you must do them.  Since the hospitals no longer have values, they will abort the babies.

But, they will claim, “we didn’t want to do it, but the Feds told us kill the babies or we shut you down”.

Where are leaders with principles–even in the Catholic Church?

Catholic Healthcare West changes name and governance to ease affiliations with other systems

San Francisco Business Times by Chris Rauber, 1/28/12

Catholic Healthcare West , which operates 40 hospitals in California, Arizona and Nevada, has changed its name to Dignity Health and formally delinked itself as a parent organization from the Catholic Church.
Officials said the new governance structure means that San Francisco-based Dignity Health, the fifth-largest health care system in the nation, is still “rooted in the Catholic tradition, but is not an official ministry of the Catholic Church.”
The San Francisco-based hospital system said the changes will enable it to grow nationally, and make it easier to partner or affiliate with both Catholic and non-Catholic hospitals. Dignity Health’s strategy includes “expanded partnerships” nationally, including Catholic and non-Catholic facilities.
Its new name reflects “the value of dignity … embedded in our culture,” Sister Judy Carle, vice chair of the system’s board and a Sister of Mercy, the religious order that sponsored and originally started the Catholic Healthcare West system.
Officials indicated that the move was not directly tied to the onset and national health reform, and its restrictions on the the ability of religious organizations to avoid providing abortions or other services and procedures because of their theology.
Dignity Health’s “Catholic hospitals will continue to be Catholic, directly sponsored by their founding congregations (religious orders), and adhering to” the Church’s guidelines. Non-Catholic hospitals will continue to be non-Catholic, but will adhere to Its secular hospitals will adhere to the Church’s Statement of Common Values, “which bans elective abortion and in-vitro fertilization but allows sterilization,” according to a Jan. 23 report by Kaiser Health News .
Fifteen of the system’s hospitals are non-Catholic; 25 are Catholic.
“The new structure supports our long-term plan to grow and coordinate care,” Lloyd Dean, Dignity Health’s president and CEO.
The system has 55,000 employees, 10,000 affiliated doctors and 40 hospitals, including St. Mary’s Medical Center and Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco and Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City.

Sterilization is only permitted as a secondary effect from some other medical necessity. A hystorectomy can be allowed due to excessive bleeding or cancer, for example, but never for the purpose of sterilization per se.

Any action has several effects. A knife may be inserted into the abdomen either to kill or to heal. Sometimes the intent dictates the morality of the action. But some actions are never permitted even if the “end wants to justify the means:. For example, a child may never be directly killed to achieve any other good end, such as choice or whim or wealth or health. The end does NOT justify an evil means. Come on people THINK! People are twisting words to confuse you and make you into murderers.
