“Teel expressed frustration that the UFCW has refused to give ground even as Raley’s has explained the corrosive effects of a surge in competition from low-cost, non-union employers.
What is really sad is that the bribe payers losing their jobs have not complained about the union leadership who decided they were expendable. More will lose their jobs to people who refuse to pay bribes to hold jobs.
Wal Mart over the next year are going to open dozens of grocery stores in California–their workers work for Wal Mart, not the union and they do not pay bribes to get or hold a job.
This is just a start. The grocery unions have created an economic dynamic that grocery workers will wind up like workers in the steel and auto industry.
Of course, that will be good for American and honest Americans–the special interests will cry. Though the unions are not crying over the jobs they killed in Sacramento–they seem proud to kill good jobs.
