If you believe President Obama, California, today, will have 93,000 fewer people.  Because their unemployment benefits have ended, they no longer are unemployed hence do not exist.

“After Saturday, May 12, no FED-ED benefits can be paid for weeks spent unemployed, even if a claimant has a remaining balance on their FED-ED extension, the Employment Development Department says.

EDD estimates 93,000 people in the state will be immediately affected.

California no longer qualifies for the federal unemployment benefits program known as the FED-ED extension due to its improving economy as compared to the extraordinarily high unemployment rates of the past three years.”

Next month, I believe, another 100,000 Californians will be no longer, per the Federal government. Just think in four years, thanks to Obama, America will be the first nation with NO unemployment!  And, no people.

California is in a Depression and the Feds think by ending the existence of 93,000 citizens we have improved our employment picture.  Sick.

Long-term unemployment benefits end tomorrow for many

Central Valley Business Times, 5/11/12

•  93,000 Californians will be immediately affected

•  Four other federal extensions still running
Californians currently collecting unemployment benefits on what’s known as the FED-ED extension (the last of five federal extensions) will soon see an end to those benefits.

The four remaining federal extensions remain in effect through the end of this year for those eligible.

After Saturday, May 12, no FED-ED benefits can be paid for weeks spent unemployed, even if a claimant has a remaining balance on their FED-ED extension, the Employment Development Department says.

EDD estimates 93,000 people in the state will be immediately affected.

California no longer qualifies for the federal unemployment benefits program known as the FED-ED extension due to its improving economy as compared to the extraordinarily high unemployment rates of the past three years.

The FED-ED extension, which provided up to 20 weeks of additional benefits to eligible long-term unemployed workers, is typically the last extension of unemployment benefits that have been available to qualified states during this recession.

EDD says it has sent notices to all unemployed individuals currently collecting FED-ED benefits to alert them to this rather abrupt but legal requirement to end the FED-ED extension.

taking all that money out of our economy is making it worse. On Friday I become homeless! I’ll be sleeping in the corner of my friends living room. I’m HIV with an AIDS diagnoses and now I will turn to APLA for help. I love love love President Obama but seriously I didn’t see this coming. I would hope congress would change the rule but no such luck. I wish I would have kept the 100K I paid in taxes over the last five years.

I don’t believe the stats that support the fed ed ending. With all the people employed in government surely someone could have challenged this. Sick

Good thing my hunny got a job this week for half of his regular salary after 28 years in the business of marketing cause his unemployment is over. We lost both our house and one of daughters this year too. So I guess he should be happy that he is now making an hourly wage with no benefits as a college educated man. He is making the same amount adjusting for inflation he made upon graduating college in 1983. I love this economy and state! (Sarcasm intended)

Nobody has anything to say about this?!?!?!?!?!?! I am in awe, our country is going down the toilet and Obama’s concern is gay marriages!??!? Not that that sort of thing is wrong, but hell. What good is that if the people don’t have any money…… Anybody who votesfor this jerk-off in the next elections truly need their head examined…
