Proctor and Gamble are going to fir 4,000 people in 2013. Dock workers are going on strike Sunday at 14 east coast ports. The cost of water and electricity are going up by 8-14%, not only in California, but across the county. Obamacare starts 20 NEW taxes on January 1.
Individually, these and other bad policies will not cause a Recession or Depression. Cumulatively, they are an economic disaster. Higher taxes from Prop. 30, AB 32, unions strikes at ports and against businesses, they add up to 2013 being the year of Recession. In fact, many economists believe we are already in recession, since July.

Shippers said Mississippi River levels have fallen faster than anticipated and commerce on a key stretch of the river could come to a halt next week.
Water levels on the Mississippi River are falling quicker than previously anticipated, and shippers said commerce on a key stretch of the Mississippi River could “come to an effective halt” next week, disrupting shipments and billions worth of goods.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Monday gave the Waterways Council, which represents shippers and receivers, an advisory message warning its members that water levels around Thebes, Ill., could be too low for most vessels to operate by Jan. 3 or 4, Reuters reports.
Barge operators have been watching the stretch of the Mississippi River between St. Louis and Cairo, Ill., which includes Thebes, for months due to concerns about a potential closure. The river is at near record-low levels from the worst U.S. drought since 1956.
“Water levels are falling quicker than we anticipated,” Ann McCulloch, spokeswoman for the American Waterways Operators, a sister organization to the Waterways Council, told Reuters. “We were hoping not to reach this point until mid-January.”
