The First Amendment Now Campaign

Our First Amendment faces unprecedented challenges.

Political Vanaguard, 3/19/09

Leaders in Congress speak favorably about the so-called Fairness Doctrine. President Obama favors localism. That practice would require stations to give extensive airtime to local hosts not popular national shows. Beyond that, the recently passed Durbin Doctrine would require government imposed "diversity" ownership on radio stations. The principal target of all of those efforts is to reduce the effectiveness conservative talk radio.

The First Amendment Now Campaign will rise to the defense of the First Amendment with:

1. An unprecedented organization of talk radio hosts to support the First
Amendment including KSFO's Lee Rodgers, Brian Sussman, & Officer Vic - KMJ's & KERN's Inga Barks, KION's Mark Carbonero, Rick Amato of KCBQ, Rob Johnson of KMPH, Andy Caldwell of AM 1140 and more.

2. A statewide grassroots campaign to gather 1 million signatures for a pledge preserving our First Amendment Rights

3. Raising money:

a) to preserve the First Amendment
b) to oppose the Fairness Doctrine, Gov't Imposed Diveristy & Localism
c) to oppose candidates that favor the Fairness Doctrine

Please go to www.FirstAmendmentNow.com and take the pledge and donate $17.76 to our cause.

Heck with that, I'd love to see Sean Hannity everyday on NBC or next to that scumbag Keith Obermouth on CNBC. Heck, O'Reilly and Glenn Beck on The CBS & NBC morning and nightly news everyday. Maybe finally the other side would be heard for a change.

Regarding previous comment, it is my understanding that the new "rules" would only affect cable news and radio - NOT broadcasting (i.e, CBS, ABC, NBC). Correct me if I am wrong. If I am correct, those networks will not be affected and can continue their biased broadcasting.
