Talk about government waste, the First Lady had to start the Christmas break with the kids before her husband, and take a separate private plane and all the security, wasting tax payers money. Obama has been to Chicago numerous times for only 6 hours and when he leaves at 11pm his planes wake up people living within miles of the airport that have to get up early the next day for work. Waste the tax payers money on them for personal business! A new President will be coming in 2013!

Our birth rate does not sustain even a 0% growth rate; it is declining. The Obummer group is bankrupting us incredibly fast. When I was in the military, I could not wait to get out of the Army. All of these people are officers and have served a number of years in a military environment, low pay, marginal housing, and some very long hours per week. Now after serving for years they get kicked square in the pants by some obscure regulation. I for one do not approve of this reduction in force, if anything it should be increased not decreased. Is this the beginning of another Pearl Harbor? When I was in the army we had an expression for these incidents, we just said FTA. For you under 50 people ask an old timer what it means.

Gallup poll last month shows Americans gave Congress an approval rating of 9%. Imagine if you got a 9% on your last job eval-how long would you be employed? Worse - they don’t even care. Leslie, your desire is understandable but if it would work, it would probably have been tried by now. To impeach and convict requires 66 votes in the Senate, and with the Senate in Dem hands, they need all 47 Repubs plus 19 Dems to convict. The numbers are not there. The only chance to impeach is if the Repubs take back the Senate in Nov. If they do, chances are Obummer will be gone. If they don’t, he’ll probably be back in for another 4—God help us!
Besides, how can you “impeach” someone who has usurped the office and does not hold it legally?

When a state has an open primary, such as the SC republican primary,you always get a lot of spoiler votes, in this case democrats voting for the one most likely to lose to Obama. The true result of the republican votes is not known, a good reason to have voters register as rep, dem, or ind. A voter does not have to register by party in SC, something they should change.

It was a true scenario of what is happening and only the beginning of what will happen if Obama gets in again.He’s already commented that the Constitution should be dissolved and the Supreme Court should be disbanded.The true problem in this country is the fact that the young folks as a whole (21-40)have not been educated in the true meaning of communism.Well you are just starting to get a little taste of it now but if Obama gets in again it will be full speed ahead.

PAB - If you think government can efficiently and effectively manage anything, please reconsider. Just remember two salient points regarding our trend toward Western European socialism - 1. Socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money; and 2. If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it’s “free”. How can Obamacare be as bad as the insurance companies bilking us for countless billions of dollars each year before they pay one red cent towards actual healthcare? Then refuse to pay claims for any reason they deem fit. Wise up people. They don’t like Obamacare bexause it requires them to pay 80 cents out of each dollar collected for actual healthcare. Sally - Who do you think is paying NOW for all of the medical shoplifting that is going on when un-insured people show up at the ER and get free care? Yep — you are. And I am. But I believe that if we don’t start to manage all this free give-away care, we’ll never be able to fix it. So the pre-Obamacare status-quo is completely un-sustainable….unless, that is, America starts turning away patients who cannot pay. (*won’t happen).
So recognize that the Republican’ts need to wake up and help fix health care. They are not leading, they are not following. So they need to get the heck out of the way of those who understand the magnitude of the problem.

Welfare is too easy to get and keep, they do not insist they work or get a little more education for a better job; then consider the 300,000 illegals and gosh only knows how many children are involved that get free health care and 90% of the time in E.R…most drive Escalades or the like, can afford to eat very well on our taxpayer dollar; my grandson and I are lucky if we make it through a whole month without a steady diet of sandwiches and milk of a juice…

A note to PAB. There are of course the realities of the world and the sky is not falling. It is however rather nearsighted and uninformed to take a position that Democrats are the answer. Simply stated the basis of Social Security and Medical aid programs at all levels were a hair brained idea in the first place. Small government and minimal intrusion into our lives is best. True we have experienced a period of greed on Wall Street but whoever in their right mind believes Government is smart enough to manage the problem. Actually the government and only the government can, in principle, protect us from the greed of the powerful wealthy and their corporations. If we want to see the already rich get richer and the middle class get much poorer, we should elect a republican president. If we want to preserve medicare and social security, we should elect a democrat president. The battle is between the rich and powerful 1% and the rest of us, the 99%. A vote for a republican strengthens the 1%, for a democrat the 99%.

EPA screams about coal and the emissions of such…it takes twice as much coal to make 7/8 of a gallon gas and twice to three times as much water; then add $1.78 a gallon subsidy to this…figure it out…cars get 2 to 6 miles less per gallon so you gas up more often; it ruins engines life earlier so you buy a car more often…see the scenario here…look at Brazil and what Ethanol production has done there..deforestation is rampant and that takes the creatures out…they die and are dying..that is what can happen here…also, off subject, read about Chemtrails and you decide…

DC will never vote term limits; that is up to each and every American; no more than two and if they disappoint in the first, then they are gone; knock the pay down about 50%, they pay for their Insurance, 401Ks and all else just like the everyday American that is fortunate if they even have a job. Uh, Willard, it was the too big to fail bailed out banks that did the foreclosing. Apparantly the BO program to re-negotiate underwater mortgages wasn’t too effective, but it was the banks not the government that refused to negotiate and foreclosed instead. Sometimes on properties they didn’t even own! If we elect a Republican president this year, we can look forward to at least 4 more years of war to keep the military industrial complex well fed as well as privatization of medicare and social security. I agree ….but the sadder harsh truth is that the vast majority of people would not have invested 15% of their earnings (or even the 7.5% they actually pay in). Then without it, there would be all these additional impoverished disabled and elderly people that the bleeding heart liberals would insist that we have to take care of ….and we can bet the cost of that would be some form of tax that exceeds 7.5%. . It’s a no win situation. I’m all for helping people who are in bad situations through no fault of their own…. But govt policies of helping everyone who screws up or just fails or refuses to help themselves is pure insanity. The challenge will always be how we discern the difference between the plain unfortunate and the blatantly undeserving. And that’s where some standards need to be developed if we are ever going to fix this thing and survive as a nation.

The Congress doesn’t even tell you that not only do they spend all our money…but they are allowed to buy “stock” based on “insider trading” and cannot be prosecuted for doing so! So when they pass laws that will “help” a business or industry, they can invest in that industry before the stock goes up…Additionally, Social Security is NOT AN ENTITLEMENT. We paid into all our working lives as did our employers…it should not be co-mingled with the General Revenue Fund. If it were a fund unto itself…we would all benefit! It doesn’t matter if one is a Dem or a Rep…they are all without a clue how most of us live, because the majority of them are MILLIONAIRES. Look it up!

SS did not start out that way. It has been changed by all the Presidents and they are spending it and more. If that money had
been put in to a trust fund like taxpayers were originally sold and told, there would be plenty of money for retirees. Some people didn’t live long enough to even collect. I’ve seen what can happen to money when it is invested conservatively over 20 years and it is
unbelievable. So don’t buy in to what the lawmakers are trying to sell you right now about this money collected. We can thank President Johnson for putting the funds in to the general fund and spending it on his “Great Society”!!!!!

Love the song. I agree with the sentiment. I strongly disagree with the comments about Social Security. I am now retired, but paid into Social Security all of my working years. I am now getting just a small portion of those payments back. I would be way ahead had I been able to invest that money myself. My husband is still working at almost 70 because he loves his job, and still pays in to it. Because of his salary, we pay taxes on both of our SS payments, for a second time. Aren’t we lucky?! And we have to constantly worry about SS going broke because the Gvmt. keeps borrowing from it. I don’t consider SS an “entitlement.” It is my money over which I never had any control.

You pay 7.5% and your employer pays 7.5%, so that is 15% that you could have invested your entire life. You would have been much better off. Entitlement programs? we pay into that program which the government steals from continually and never pays it back. Fact. Well fare is not an entitlement program, but it supports welfare mother’s to keep milking off the system as well as their children who later collect SSI with out as much as an exam to determine whether that child is capable of holding a low wage job. The government under republican control for eight years has raided SS and used up a surplus from the clinton year’s to start a war based on false pretenses of weapons of mass destruction which turned out not to be true. We cant trust any one any more and the voter’s need to wake up and vote out the one’s who created this mess in the first place and start over. Of course SS and Welfare are “Entitlement” programs…although I believe anyone would be hard pressed to explain how one is “entitled” to the labors of others. You paid a TAX (FICA)…you are paying for the people currently retired..it’s a ponzi scheme. (when started, there were over 120 people paying for 1 SS recipient…now it’s down to less than 3 to 1 !!) And if I were you, I’d read up on history as far as who raided what when…LBJ was the 1st to “raid” the SS “account”…it’s all tax money, and the Gubmint is going to do with it what it will….The only reason Clinton had a surplus was the Repub congress forced a balanced budget!! quick drinking the koolaid and do some research for yourself!

The more the government takes control over anything, the worse the situation gets. Has welfare improved the lot of the poor? NO! It’s EXACERBATES it and creates MORE poverty. Social Security? A Ponzi Scheme. Medicare? More fraud and higher costs. The postal service? It’s insolvent. Get government to stop buying votes with OUR money and make families take care of their own sick and old. We’d be able to afford it because we’d eliminate the high cost of medical care and get to keep most of our money to begin with. The consumer has courts for their protection. I see the need for state or federal oversight, but they are out of control and make it too expensive for companies to do business here. Worse, if you don’t manufacture anything, you will soon have no income. STUDENTS? I worked to pay for college and the the federal government keeps throwing OUR money at the “education problem” yet scores keep falling (even with reduced difficulty tests). The government which governs least, governs best and taxation for wealth redistribution is theft. If you disagree with that statement you are either dependent upon the wealth of others, a politician or an idiot.

Greg: You have to be a government worker to write such an inane comment. First, no private business would provide unsafe food as they would be out of business in a week. Second, if you think the Post Office runs better than Fed Ex, you are missing a few cells. The Post Office is one of the most inefficient government enterprises there is. You cannot compare sending a package for $5 with a mailed envelope. Its apple and oranges. Why do you think most businesses send out items by Fed Ex or by UPS and not the US Mail? It will get there on time and not be lost. And this baloney about people paying their fair share is right out of the Obama class warfare playbook. To him, anyone who is successful is not paying their fair share even though the top 1% of Americans pay 36% of all taxes, the top 5% pay 59% and the top 10% pay 70% of ALL the tax bills. The bottom 50% pay less than 3%. All those government agencies you refer to are used by all all 100% of us. So why do the top 50% pay for all government services and some people in the bottom 50% get money back from them as Earned Income Tax Credit, a government oxymoron. That is paying MORE than their fair share.
In Obama’s world you don’t pay your “fair share” if you are in the top 50% of wage earners. He wants you to pay more and give it to the 50% below you who “really deserve it” . They are not getting their “fair share” of the income. You did not really earn yours honestly if they don’t have as much as you.

Would private enterprise provide us with unsafe food if they could make a profit doing it? Absolutely-they do it even when there’s a law against it and they could go to jail for it. I’m glad we have a government that will enforce those laws and put the offenders in jail. Same goes for air traffic safety and building code regulations. And next time my house catches fire or someone breaks into my house, I’ll call the fire or police department. If some other country invades ours, I’m confident that our government-controlled military will destroy the invaders. If I want to mail something, I could take it, along with $5.00+, to my local FedEx office, or I could put a 44-cent stamp on it and leave it in my mailbox to be picked up. I gladly pay my fair share for the government services that make life better for us all, and I wish that there weren’t so many loopholes to enable other people to avoid paying their fair share. Go ahead and hate the government all you want, but I bet you won’t ever be fool enough to try to do without it.

Couple of points: In the mid-1800′s Alexis de Tocqueville prophisied that while democracy was perhaps the best form of government, it’s weakness would be exposed when the electorate realized it could vote itself benefits.
That day is here. Just review the largesse President Obama has shown to his ‘to the left’ constituents.
Seems to me the key to America’s greatness was that at a time when in Europe the class system predicted your future, the democracy of America allowed for people to be free to dream
but more than that …with sufficient, skill, intelligence and labor,
to actually achieve their dreams.
Predicated on this perspective, my vote is not for the redistribution of wealth, but for the assurance of equal opportunity.
Beyond that, and because of the observations of de Tocqueville, I would restrict the privilege of voting only to those who have — by way of tax payments — invested in America’s well being.

The Corporations are taking it all. The upper 1 % makes 46% of the income. In 2007 CEO’s of America paid more to themselves in bonus then into all of their workers pension plans. So I person gets more than everyone else get for retirement after working, 30, 40, 50 years.
Both parties have sold out to the filthy rich, but the republicans have done so completely. At least the democrats are trying to do a little something for the middle class.

I’m as middle class as they come, but all of this focus on how much the “rich” make is getting nuts. Sure, there are some that are completely out of touch with reality. But, the rich are also the ones that are taking the risks to start businesses that provide jobs to the middle class. It’s not “wrong” to be rich! When you start throwing out those stats like “The upper 1 % makes 46% of the income”, you need to follow that up with how much of the US incomes taxes that same 1% is paying. I think you’d see that the 1% you referenced also pays the majority of the tax revenue in the US as well. Before you go and say “Well, they can afford it!”, just remember that there is someone else that is worse off than you are and they could say the same about you! Do the rich have too much power? In some cases, yes. But, if we, as a country, decide to cripple those people, the investment into job creating businesses will continue to decrease and we will quickly become a country that is so dependent on the governmnet for everything that the freedoms that we have fought for will quickly disappear. We’ve already become a people of entitlement, in that so many think it’s their right to own a home, drive a nice car, go to college, etc. Where are the days when you work hard, save up and possibly be able to afford something nice?? They are gone. People think that just because they exist, they should enjoy the same lifestyle as everyone else. Not true! You should live within your means; save where you can; and work to achieve your goals.

We the Americans are the ones feeding into this money driven, greedy, wasteful, and self gratifying government. We are paying for the American dream… 10 thousand in credit card debt, cars and homes beyond are means, and getting second or third jobs to just pay the intrest/taxs on it all. This is how the rich are getting richer. People trash the rich but don’t complain about there jobs making good money, nice big house, car, money in the bank. Don’t they realize they are the ones that pay for the rich to take that 10 thousand dollar lunch.

I was looking at my last pay check for 2011 and added all my tax deductions. Then I divided my tax dedications by the my weekly paycheck amount. It takes 14.3 weeks of work just to pay the taxes deducted from my check. Not to mention sales tax, gas tax, property tax, alcohol tax, license plate tabs, random service taxes, etc…
After I or “we” pay all these taxes every year and every day of our lives what is the GOV doing for us? Not a god damn thing. Leave my money alone and let me spend it as I see fit. Let me meet my financial obligations and maybe I wouldn’t have to put the 75k in student loans my wife and I have in forbearance because we just had a baby and had to go single income household.
Sick and tired of the self serving GOV taking all money money and giving it to themselves and lazy worthless add nothing to society people.
Want to fix this country stop robbing the citizens and making their lives harder. Stop telling people you know how to spend THEIR hard earned money better than they do. I SICK of it.
There will be a revolution because this country, this GOV needs to be abolished and rebuilt according to the constitution. We need to end this social engineering and stop letting the GOV turn us against each other because that’s what they are doing.
Whatever, I could go on and on but unfortunately it does not matter because like myself everyone that works for a living is too damn tired from grinding day in and day out to stand up and have his or her voice heard. All we can do now is try to hold on to what little we have left before the GOV tries to take that away from us too.

It is because that is the driving force that is driving middle class labor wages into the ground. it is all being masked by their claims of competing with a global economy but what people failed to see is that WE were THE Consumers of world goods, WE could have kept tariffs in place and yes things would have cost us more to buy but it would have kept jobs and manufacturing here in the states along with our hard working middle class consumers driving our own economy.
Instead, OUR government has lowered tariffs on imports to help out big business and the world has now helped us right out of our jobs.
If things are to get any better in this country for “The Majority” then tariffs on imports need to be in place, no tax breaks for any part of any business that has been imported. It would be a hard road, but things are that far out of wack now and there will continue to be a lot of hurt before things get any better.

I really believe this is the only way things will change. But the problem is most members of the House are is what is called ‘Safe Districts’. ONE change in our law could correct our problems with our elected officials. TERM LIMITS, TERM LIMITS. That would remove 90% of the career politicians. We have to elect politicains who will vote for TERM LIMITS. We need to ask our politicians if they support TERM LIMITS, if they give you the excuse “We need politicians who have experience”. TERM LIMITS - after 2 elections, you are unable to run for your current office. To run for another office, you have to wait 6 years at least. Pay for being in congress or as president - minimum wage. No paid-for-by-taxpayers healthcare or any other benefits. Only able to accept $1,000 or less one-time-only campaign donation from any supporter.

Very good! Would be excellent if Tim put in the part about how government enforcers are what turn all those many harm-describing words into the REAL HARM that they are. People could - and would - ignore all those words if there were far fewer individuals willing to enforcer them; individuals willing to initiate physical harm. Enforcers are KEY to ALL the harm caused by governments, both at home and abroad.
Dissuade those you know from being or remaining enforcers. For those not persuaded by reasoned logic, use shame, shunning and even ostracism - all with long histories of persuading those whose actions are unacceptable. It is also referred to as negative Social Preferencing. This technique is also appropriate for those who support/enable the enforcers, whether staff personnel or even an enforcer’s family/friends. Don’t simply complain/rant, demonstrate displeasure towards the key to all of government, anywhere by withdrawing all voluntary association with the enforcers.

When that happens, social security stops, medicare stops, and all other entitlements stop.No more borrowing from other countries, and the printing presses will have to stop because the dollar will no longer be viable as the global currency, but not before the gov’t. prints so much money that it causes hyper-inflation. What I’m saying is not a scare tactic; it’s happened before in several other countries, Greece, just being the latest. This always happens when politicians buy votes through entitlement spending and socialism takes hold. Let’s all vote with our common sense in 2012.

Then they can control how you think and vote. The people who vote for social programs are the people the government tells they can help. How are we doing so far? 15 trillion in debt and you want the government to keep spending? It’s not their money. The reason we are such a great nation is we are prosperous. That is not a bad word either. You wouldn’t have half the things you do without American businesses producing wealth. There is opportunity for all here in this country. Christian Republicans give more in charity that any other group. They help the poor in churches, fraternal organizations, soup kitchens, large gifts to causes, as do many many other Americans. I think it’s a shame that so many think it’s a “duty” to pay taxes to a government to solve problems that is cannot solve. The root of many of our problems are individuals who refuse to learn a real skill or work hard. The government cannot give them these things, which are necessary to earn a living. I’m glad to help those in need but I refuse to accept your view that this can only be done via taxes and the government. What this country needs is a return to a time when individuals help each other directly and we stop relying on politicians who make promises they cannot fulfill if we only give them more resources.

Giving our money in taxes does not help the poor. That tax money then being given to the so called poor only enables them, like more alcohol does an alcoholic . There are the truly poor through no fault of there own and they should be helped. But the majority of the poor are there by choice and are too lazy, and feel they are owed something to do any thing to climb out of there situation. But then thats the strategy this Marxist, Obama, his Czars and the rest of the Liberal Progressives in Washington are using to turn our country into a dependancy population. Wake up everybody! Yes, the current situation STINKS! And Bush did a little more than he should have, but it is not Democrat or Republican. That is what they have us arguing and fighting over. It is Big Government, Democrat (more so) and Republican alike (The Establishment), against small, CONSTITUTIONAL Government (some Democrats, but mostly the newly elected TEA PARTY Candidates, and of coarse Some Republicans). Originally the concern was these Representatives of their states would not meet in a year, so Amendment XX, section 2 constitutes a day of the year (Jan 3) when these reps MUST meet. And now it is a full time career? Wake up America, we have been led down a horrible path that began a 100 years ago, possibly 200 years ago! It’s not Bush or Obummer, but The chosen one (by the media) has kicked it into high gear. The Great Experiment of America, where man is FREE to rule himself (as long as he doesn’t hurt anybody), has been under attack since its’ inception, slowly, methodically, until us idiots wake up and it is all gone. Fortunately our Founding FATHERS were bright enough to see in the future and know this would happen and gave us the means with which to abolish our Government in the Constitution.
