American Elect: Not Independent—Part of Democrat Party

Americans Elect claims to be a new political model—not Republican or Democrat. They are going to have a candidate for President on the ballot in all fifty states in November.

Who are these people? They just sent out a press release announcing a new Board member, Ed Colligam, former CEO of Palm. Who is he?

Colligan is a major Democrat donor.

““Americans Elect is utilizing modern technology in a way that allows voters to participate in a new and revolutionary way,” said Colligan. “Innovations for nominating America’s leaders are vital to the 21^st century political process to create a more inclusive and effective system.”

Just another Democrat trying to keep Barack in office. Not once in the bio released by Americans Elect does it mention Colligans’ deep financial ties to the Obama Administration or the Democrat Party?

They you have Dary Sragow who recently wrote an Op-Ed for the Sacramento Bee as the Political Director of Americans Elect. The Bee did not note that Dary had worked for the radical Democrat Senator Birch Bayh or that he was a Democrat political consultant that has run numerous Leftists, like Gray Davis, for office.

From his law firm biography, “He has managed five statewide races in the state, three for governor and two for the U.S. Senate. For nearly ten years, he served as the chief campaign strategist for the Democrats in the California State Assembly.”

This is a moderate who does not like the Democrat Party?

Then you have Illeana Wachtel, the National Press Secretary. A little known operative having worked for no Republicans that can be found.

The big guy is Kahlil Byrd—the CEO of Americans Elect. He claims to have run campaigns for Republicans—but none can be found. In fact in his own biography he lists no Republicans he has worked for. How did he get his start in politics? From his bio:

“Kahlil got his start in politics as one of the earliest staffers to join Deval Patrick’s historic 2006 governor’s race in Massachusetts. During the primary, Kahlil was named communications director and a senior strategist – working with the senior team to develop and execute the overall campaign plan; lead the communications group; and act as primary campaign spokesman. Kahlil became Governor Patrick’s director of gubernatorial appointments on Inauguration Day 2007, helping to shape the Governor’s team throughout the new administration.” Note it does not mention that Patricks is an Obama/Holder Democrat.

American Elect has only one real purpose—to divide the anti-Obama vote to assure that President Obama can continue his efforts to minimize freedom and rights for citizens, while exploding the Federal government, from health care to donuts, Americans will be controlled by Washington.

I could not find a significant or insignificant Republican operative in the crowd.

The founder of Americans Elect is Peter Ackerman. Who?

From the Council on Foreign Affairs biography of Ackerman, “Mr. Ackerman is also a member of various boards, including the Executive Council of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. He is also a member of the U.S. Advisory Council of the United States Institute of Peace and the Advisory Board for America Abroad Media.”

American Elect has little to do with freedom or defeating Obama. It is just another Democrat National Committee effort to divide the vote to re-elect Obama. Yet the Bee and other papers play this as if it were real.

As we get closer to the election we will hear more about this organization as “The Third Way”. Actually, it is more like the “Chicago/Alinsky Way”.

Think it can’t work? Remember 1992, Ross Perot and Bill Clinton. It worked then, it can work again. Beware of Democrats who claim to be Independent.
