No one disputes the fact that Los Angeles city and county governments are controlled and run by the unions/Democrats. To be elected, except in rare instances, you must be a Democrat. In the city of Los Angeles only one council member and no other city official is a registered Republican. Even the so-called Progressives have made it clear—women are not wanted in city or county politics. There is one women on the Board of Supervisors and one on the city council. Where is AF Holder demanding new elections, an investigations, a denouncement of the gender hating? Democrats—This is the Party of Spitzer, Weiner and Filner—and let us not forget Bill Clinton—then you have the Democrat wannabee Arnold.

Where are all the women in L.A. government?

Supervisor Gloria Molina of the First District, is one of the few women holding a top post in Los Angeles government.

The fact that women are scarce in Los Angeles government has caught the attention of the New York Times.

Reporter Adam Nagourney said the lack of women serving it top city posts was “a subject of considerable chagrin, civic embarrassment and impassioned discussions about exactly what happened.”

Earlier this year, Eric M. Garcetti defeated Wendy Greul, who would L.A.’s first woman mayor. And there’s only woman on Los Angeles County’s five-member Board of Supervisors, Gloria Molina, Nagourney notes.

Unfortunately, as he reports, the situation isn’t likely to change as few female candidates have made it known they want to run for positions.
