This is not a joke. The SEIU 1000, famous for supporting Democrats, radical’s, high taxes, ACORN, Brown and Obama, gave $15,000 to the California Republican Party. The claim is that since 40,000 SEIU members are “registered” Republicans this is representative of them. Forgotten is the fact that the Republicans, and Democrats,SteveFrank-sm are forced to pay dues to the organization or they are not allowed to work.

If the membership was voluntary, this makes sense. But, decent people are forced to pay into an organization they neither trust, respect or support. Pay or else. Are there standards that a candidate or party has as to who to accept donations from? If not, we need in the California Republican party to set standards. What do you think?

The Real SEIU That Gave Money to the California Republican Party

Editorial by Stephen Frank, 10/14/13

At the just completed convention of the California Republican Party (CRP) we were told of a dozen organizations and people that “sponsored” the event. At the top of the logo list was the SEIU 1000. They gave $15,000 to the California Republican Party. We were told that there are 40,000 members of the SEIU 1000 (or of the SEIU, it was never made clear) that are Republicans and we should be happy to receive their donation to the Republican cause.

On first blush that sounds good. Even Ed Ring of Union Watch thought this was a good start to creating a relationship with the Republicans in a union. Sounds good, right.

Here is what has been left out.

The Republicans in SEIU 1000 did not volunteer to join, nor do they voluntarily stay as members. They know, as does the CRP, that if they refuse to allow SEIU 1000 to take money from their paycheck, they will not have a job. Either pay your dues or you do not work. Is this a Republican value?

We were told that the SEIU 1000 is one of the “good guys”, not one of those nasty, bad SEIU groups. What is left out of that statement is the fact SEIU 1000 “dues” are divided. Most stays in the Local, the rest is sent to the State affiliate and the national organization of the SEIU. So, when the national SEIU, as we speak, are touring the country with a bus touting the greatness of ObamaCare, a part of the cost is borne by the forced Republican members of the SEIU 1000.

Wonder where the “Republicans” were when the SEIU spent money to defeat Republicans—why didn’t some of the SEIU money go to elect Republicans? Remember, a portion of the nation SEIU money came from SEIU 1000.

Here is what the national SEIU spent in 2012—notice the money spent to elect Republicans on a national level:

Independent Expenditures: $19,640,162
For Democrats: $9,297,434
Against Democrats: $0
For Republicans: $12,493
Against Republicans: $13,708,892
Electioneering Communications: $0
Communication Costs: $3,370,842

How did the SEIU 1000, with its Republican members, help elect Andy Vidak? From the Sacramento Bee, “Union-backed independent expenditure committees, meanwhile, are putting their money behind Perez. Since July 1, the Democrat has benefited from nearly $200,000 spent on mailers, radio buys, Facebook ads and other activities of several IE committees, including those of SEIU Local 1000 and the California State Council of Service Employees.

So far, reported from 1/1/13 to 6/30/13 the SEIU 1000 has given approximately $500,000 to Democrats, zero to Republicans, including, directly $130,000 to the California Democrat Party

In 2011-12 election cycle the SEIU 1000, the “good guys”, with Republican “members” gave $7800 on 1/15/13 to GOP Assemblyman Nestande, while giving 66 Democrats either $7800 or $3900. Then they gave large sums to 14 Democrat County Central Committees and hundreds of thousands to the State Democrat Party.

Should I remind the readers that the former head of the national SEIU, Andy Stern, was on the Board of Directors of ACORN—and that many ACORN offices were really spaces in SEIU offices around the nation. From the Washington Post, “The SEIU and ACORN have long worked closely together, with the union paying the association more than $3.6 million in the past three years and sharing some office locations and leaders with the group.”

As this is being written on Sunday afternoon, the SEIU is one of two unions holding the people of the Bay Area hostage by not agreeing to a BART contract. As we know all SEIU unions contribute money to the strike fund, including the poor Republicans forced to pay dues to the SEIU 1000—to assure the people of the Bay Area can not use the BART system their taxes paid for, for many years.

Why would the SEIU give any money to the Republican?

“SEIU California launches Republican PAC to back moderates

One of California’s largest labor unions today advanced a plan intended to result in the election of more moderate Republicans.

By creating a Republican political action committee, Service Employees International Union California officials say they hope to help send people from right-leaning areas to Sacramento who put practical solutions in front of strict conservative thinking.”

Obviously the $15,000 is a foot in the door, to get the ear of GOP Party leaders, nominees and office holders.

Then you have the open policy of SEIU 1000 and all SEIU locals—support the membership of illegal aliens in the union and helping them get jobs. This, in violation of Federal immigration laws. This is corruption and lawbreaking.

“Eliseo Medina, the International Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), freely and unashamedly admitted that his union has members who are illegal immigrant workers.

Medina made the comments in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News at a rally for immigration reform attended by hundreds of people in Bakersfield, California.

Medina gave no indication that he thought there was anything wrong with violating U.S. immigration law, and said the country needed comprehensive immigration reform because workers who are in the country illegally fear legal consequences such as being arrested or deported.”

The bottom line is this: Should a political Party have some standards? Years ago a racist named Metzger received the GOP nomination for Congress—and Republicans joined Democrats to defeat him. While David Duke was a registered Republican, the Republican Party denounced him. You do not notice the Democrats denounces Maxine Waters, AG Holder or others in their Party promoting bigotry and discrimination. Republicans do.

Would you take money from an individual or organization that forces people to join. That takes money from workers paychecks without permission? An organization that promoted the radical, corrupt ACORN? Does anybody serious think that the SEIU is anything but a big government, anti-freedom operation that uses people and their work to advance government over families and jobs?

The money was taken. We could give it back. Or we can openly say we will never take money again from an organization that forces workers to give them money. Then take the $15,000 and specifically spend it for voter registration or a nominee to defeat an SEIU 1000, or any SEIU, candidate.

The taking of this money is just another reason folks are leaving the Republican Party. What does the CRP stand for? By taking the money it says we are willing to take money that was forcibly taken from workers. Is that the Republican we want? Decline to State registrations are significantly growing because of actions like this.

What would you do?
